This is the WORST place to shop in Valpo. You might as well go to the dollar store or good will. I stood in line for 20 minutes watching ppl get there stuff off layaway and the lady at the counter opened every box and went over their receipts. It's then my turn and my box gets tossed on the counter. I then go stand in line for 40 minutes to buy some more stuff. 40 minutes with 1little ok lady in front of me w/a cane. They were trying to over charge her. Then another lady was trying to cut in I stood in line a called the store. And on hold for 10 minutes. I grabbed my layaway box and left the store.. manager NEVER answered the phone.. Kmart Is AWFUL.. RUDE AN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THERE COSTUMERS..
If you need something quick, this might be the place to go as it's not very popular and, therefore, never busy. The problem, however, is that the store is very run down with old lighting, ceilings, flooring, and water stains everywhere. The limited customers also means that they aren't staffed that well and you might have to wait to checkout your merchandise. Shelves are stocked well, but the selections aren't always the best. It's a great location for this store, but the corporation's inability to care for their stores have let down their customer base and employees.
It's always so fast when you go there. And the points are a nice bonus.
The prices are good. The Shop Your Way Rewards program is good. The staff are usually friendly. I hope this K-mart will stay open given all the K-mart and Sears stores that have been closed recently.
Great for a quick shopping. A little bit expensive for quality of items. Long lines.
