I have now been indirectly involved with 2 separate instances with the USDA, and both have been extremely disappointing. It also makes me wonder, what is the primary mission of the USDA? The USDA was 'johnny on the spot' when it came to killing an innocent animal using a privately contracted hunter in Naperville, yet failed to act in a case where horses were languishing for MONTHS on a property that they had visited several times (eventually over 30 of them were euthanized). Both situations were not handled properly, and the USDA was involved. Not to mention the massive violations of the Animal Welfare Act on a daily basis by mega 'factory farms'. Tragic and frustrating.
