Dr. Applegarth is a excellent doctor nice, knowledgeable, on time and great at dermatology I would highly recommend seeing him if you have a skin problem that needs diagnostic
I held my composure, but I am sure my face was red, and hers was too. I walked out, to never walk in again.
I just went to Dr. Applegarth office. They asked for insurance card, then form to fill out. The receptionist asked if the insurance was mine, I said no it was my wife's (who works at Porter Hospital, where Dr. Applegarth is associated) and we have their insurance, so I had to put my wife's information including her social security number. I have only been married 2.5 years and don't have that memorized. The receptionist indicated that they needed it, I said "Okay I'll get it to you". She said: "I need it before you go in or you will have to pay like you have no insurance". I questioned that, and told her that my wife was working in the ICU today and I could not just call her for that. I offered my social security number, that would not do. I was questioning her, since I had to pay the co-pay and I have insurance why it is necessary, she told me: "In case you don't pay":
She must have thought that I was a thug/crook/criminal, which I am not (a businessman in clean business attire driving a new car). Or, that is their method of doing business. I feel that is totally unacceptable, and no one wants to be embarrassed in a waiting room full of other people.
I went there after years of doctors telling me I had dermatitis. Well Tom took cate of me and found out I had a fungus. Cured in 2 months. I'm taking my child there for her skin.
Long waits and poor service. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else
I was a first time patient at Applegarth Dermatology. My appointment was scheduled for 12:40pm, and I was instructed to complete new patient paperwork prior to my arrival. I showed up promptly at 12:30pm with paperwork in hand. I ended up waiting 45 minutes in the lobby, and at about 1:25pm got frustrated, cancelled my appointment and left. lt's irritating to make a scheduled appointment only to have the facility ill-prepared to help a new patient. Ironically, if you cancel your appointment without proper notice or if you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, they have a posted sign that states you may be charged $25. Too bad they didn't pay me $25 for the 45 minutes I wasted in their lobby during my lunch break. I do not plan on rescheduling an appointment with this company.
